What are the requirements for power supply, if you use multiple access controllers?
Hello, The working current of an MC - 5848T four doors access control board is 200MA to 350 MA, 8 sets of standard access controllers’ working flow in 120 * 8 = 960MA, and the working current of 4 sets electric locks is in 120 ~ 120 MA / set. If calculated on the 4 sets, working current is about 2.4 A, if add all together, all the current is estimated at 3.5 A, and you said only 3.5 A real working maximum output power, the power supply is not enough to use, the power supply designed according to the specification should provide 30% to 50% surplus current power to plan system power.
It is recommended to select 5A working power supply, or choose 3.5A switch power supply to provide motherboard and power supply of card reader. It needs to be equipped with the extra power supply to provide the electricity.
However, because of the limited volume of the chassis, we propose to select dedicated power supply to supply the current of the main board and the card reader, and then add a more set of power supply to the electric lock.
